Mark Barfoot teaches West African drumming and is also a Drum Circle Facilitator. Based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne he has been teaching workshops since 2004 working with a wide range of ages, backgrounds and abilities. A founder member of both the performance group Mutandi and  Drummed Up he offers a fun introduction to drumming; traditional rhythms from Guinea and Senegal; rhythm games and activities for all ages and abilities to encourage participation, team working and confidence building around playing music in a group.

social systems, religion, music and rhythms.

A CD is provided with a breakdown
of some of the rhythms
notated in the book.

Nansady and Geraldine Keita offer drum workshops and performances throughout the UK.  They are based in NE England and teach traditional rhythms and songs from Guinea.
Nansady Keita founded and leads performance group 'Sodeya'. Together they run the 'Musical Tree Project Guinea' that plants trees used to make musical instruments .  They sell top of the range drums from Guinea and Nansady also offers a high quality drum maintenance service.
